Human Resources Generalist
JOB SUMMARY:
Supports and enhances the organization’s Human Resources, along with the HRSM, through positive employee relations, recruiting and maintaining/implementing human resources policies, programs and practices.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Promote positive employee relations.
- Implement, administer and maintain HR policies, programs and practices.
- Fully Cycle Recruiting
- Updating job descriptions as needed in conjunction with the department mangers.
- Conduct orientation and training programs.
- Liaise with managers/supervisors in resolving associate concerns with respect to job security, fair treatment, safe and healthy workplace, and communication
- Support payroll and benefits programs as needed.
- Track and maintain employee training records.
- Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and advising HRSM of applicable legislation changes.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Function as back up when needed for HRSM
- Performs other duties and projects as required.
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1-3 years’ experience in a similar position and/or a Diploma in HR or Business Administration.
- Human Resources Management Certificate.
- Previous experience in a unionized environment an asset
- Good working knowledge of HR issues.
- Good working knowledge of current and changing legislation
- Ability to work independently and in a team with limited supervision/direction
EQUIPMENT AND/OR PRODUCT:
- Computers, Telephones, Fax Machines, Printers
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Well-lit climate-controlled office area. Moderate exposure to noise (excess 85dBA) and dust when in the manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience in a unionized environment an asset
SAFETY AND HOUSEKEEPING:
- Responsible to adhere to Health and Safety programs in accordance with the OHSA.
- Follow and ensure the Company’s procedures regarding safety rules and regulations
- Ensure that you work and operate equipment according to Sodecia’s safety rules and regulations.
- Ensure that your Department is clean, tidy, organized and a safe workplace at all times.
- Responsible to adhere to all Environmental Program ISO 14001 elements and attend training for same. Act in accordance to all Environmental policies, procedures and regulations.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
