Summary of position

The Quality Engineering Specialist is responsible for supporting compliance to ISO-9001, GMP and Food Safety (SQF) program in the Cartons & Labels Division. The incumbent works in partnership with the Operations teams and Operations Support teams to continuously improve processes and procedures, improve customer relationships through RCCM, and is instrumental in supporting new product launches and engineering changes with the goal of ensuring quality products for our customers.

Here are some of the different activities you’ll be asked to do:

  • Quality team member for New Product Launches and Engineering Changes
  • Analyze operational metrics for CI opportunities and drive RCCM to improve metrics
  • Develop, maintain SOP’s ensuring compliance to IOS-9000 and Jones quality standards
  • Review, approve and assist in implementation of new and revised Quality Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Assisting in the creation of CIR’s, root cause analysis, and preventative actions for the purposes of driving Continuous Improvement
  • Review and verify corrective action effectiveness for the purposes of driving Continuous Improvement
  • Driving root cause analysis and facilitating lasting corrective actions for issues discovered
  • Developing in-process product inspection standards
  • Support the maintenance of the electronic and hard copies of Quality procedures, forms, and company-wide Quality manuals.

If you’ve got:

  • Post-Secondary Diploma in Quality or Bachelor of Engineering Degree
  • Minimum 7 years of Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of QMS, 8D, DMAIC, PPAP, APQP, SPC, PFMEA, DFMEA, MSA, and control plans.
  • Food and/or Pharma manufacturing experience an asset.
  • Automotive industry manufacturing experience an asset.
  • Lean manufacturing background an asset.
  • Green Belt training an asset.
