About the Job:

We are currently seeking a PLC Controls Electricianfor our local manufacturing facility. The Controls Specialist is responsible for all plant floor related, automation control-based systems. Support includes the implementation of system changes in partnership with the equipment vendor, support of daily plant activities relating to these systems, and system management including the implementation of standards and incident management.

Responsibilities:

· Perform modifications and suggest improvements to automation equipment.

· Responsible for designing, programming, repairing, and maintaining programmable logic controller (PLC) systems.

· Support repairs and installations for other advanced production/manufacturing equipment.

· Upgrade production lines with new equipment and technology.

· Install, repair, upgrade and maintain electrical/electronic equipment used in the manufacturing process.

· Troubleshoot, reinstall, test, evaluate, calibrate, and maintain instruments or devices upon completion of repairs.

· Support Production and Maintenance Technicians by coaching/mentoring/training.

· Analyzes and repairs all manufacturing equipment and systems, including developing SOP’s and PM’s for equipment and processes.

· Evaluates problems and generates options to find actionable practical solutions as well as acting as a resource for operational and maintenance teams when electrical/control issues occur.

· Reading and evaluating electrical schematics.

· Troubleshoot, read, and edit PLC logic.

· Work independently and take ownership while working in a team environment

· Liaise with Safety, production, maintenance and process personnel to trouble shoot and resolve issues.

· Willingness to work in a 24/7 maintenance environment and be flexible to respond to calls afterhours in case of emergency downtime of equipment.

Qualifications:

· Post-Secondary completion as an Electronics Engineering Technician or Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering.

· Five or more years of experience.

· Direct working knowledge of operations.

· Proficiency in written and spoken English.

· Proficient in Microsoft Suites such as Excel and Word.

· Able to handle multiple demands in a challenging and fast paced- team orientated environment.

· A great communicator.

· Strong attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to prioritize tasks.

· Ability to follow direction and work independently.

· Ability to contribute effectively to any/all team efforts.

· Dependable with the mindset of getting the job done.
