Role Purpose: Mechanical Assemblers are responsible for assembly of parts, components or products using a variety of tools and equipment according to required specifications. They must follow specifications in order to meet safety and quality requirements. They will travel to customer locations for start up support, equipment repairs, and troubleshooting as required.
Reports To: Shop Supervisor
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Read and understand engineering drawings and component specifications in order to recognize parts and part specifications for assembly
- Use a variety of hand and power tools following appropriate methods and procedures to complete mechanical assembly of components or products
- Assemble and install mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components
- Perform basic tests on installed components to ensure they meet the appropriate standards
- Inspect, operate, and test completed products to verify functioning, machine capabilities, or conformance to customer specifications
- Trouble shoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Travel internationally to provide start up support and equipment repairs on site at customer location
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and maintain all equipment
- Operate fork truck, cranes, and genie boom
- Continually assess processes to find inefficiencies
- Other duties as required

Qualifications & Experience:
- Post-Secondary diploma or Skilled Trades Certificate of Qualification in a related field (preferred)
- Previous experience in assembly of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Valid passport and driver’s license – international travel required
- Must be willing to learn and practice continuous improvement techniques
- Must be able to read shop drawings
- Must have an understanding of electrical, hydraulics, and mechanical assembly as it applies to equipment
