What to Expect

This position is primarily responsible for supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the organization. The successful candidate will play a key role in the Labour Optimization project through comprehensive data analysis and effective execution of optimization strategies.

A Day in the Life

  • Time and Motion Studies: Conducting studies to analyze the time taken for various tasks, identifying inefficiencies, and establishing standard times for operations.
  • Ergonomics: Designing workspaces and tasks to minimize physical strain on employees, enhancing comfort and reducing the risk of injuries.
  • Workload Balancing: Distributing work evenly among employees to prevent bottlenecks and ensure efficient use of labor resources.
  • Labor Cost Analysis: Analyzing labor costs to identify opportunities for cost savings while maintaining or improving productivity levels.
  • Change Management: Facilitating smooth transitions during changes in labor processes or structures, ensuring that employees adapt effectively to new practices.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science or Math
  • Experience in labour optimization, project management, or similar role, would be an asset
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma Concepts an asset
  • Green Belt DMAIC certification an asset
  • Self-starter / ability to manage multiple tasks and timelines.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, including some training experience.
  • Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
