SUMMARY

The Horticultural Technician will assist in all aspects of cannabis production including, but not limited to, cultivation, IPM, post-harvest, room flips and biosecurity. As a Horticultural Technician you:

  • Adhere to the Company Standard Operating Procedures for the Good Production Practices (GPP)
  • Ensure that the handling of the cannabis product is in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures and quality requirements, including all CTLS requirements.
  • Perform duties related to the care and maintenance of cannabis within the greenhouse. Maintain cannabis plants in grow rooms. Harvesting, pruning, cloning, transplanting, pest scouting, water testing, recording and measuring plant data, room and equipment cleaning and sterilization.
  • Cleaning and maintenance of all areas of the facility including cleaning of equipment and supplies.
  • Generate and maintain Good Production Practices documents for the product pursuant to the job function.
  • Prepare product for the next stage of processing. This could include bucking, hand/machine trimming, sorting or bulk packaging.
  • Consistently and routinely inspect plants for disease and pests; perform quality control inspections of final trimmed products.
  • Weigh and record materials for performance tracking and complete all required documentation; ensure waste products are accurately labeled and documented appropriately in accordance with CTLS.
  • Ensure all equipment and rooms (grow, processing and dry rooms) are cleaned and sterilized according to SOPs and requirements.
  • Ensure the wash bay remains organized and all equipment is cleaned in a timely manner so that flow is not interrupted.
  • Assist with inventory counts as required.
  • Perform cleaning and sanitation of facility, production equipment, common area and high touch surfaces etc. in a thorough and safe manner.
  • Sort, label, grade and inspect bulk packaged products as required.
  • Encouraged to actively participate in the continuous improvement process in relation to increased productivity and quality.
  • Supporting the entire cultivation process from clone to cure.
  • Perform all work in a safe and professional manner.
  • Additional duties as required, including assisting other departments.

REQUIREMENTS

  • May be required to work at any company site (Aylmer, Strathroy, Guelph) as required with proper notice.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Horticulture/Agricultural experience an asset
  • Must be punctual, reliable and have a good attendance record
  • Successful candidates, upon selection, will submit to an RCMP criminal background check
  • Valid First Aid & CPR Certificate considered an asset
  • Knowledge of health and safety best practices
  • Ability to communicate with the team to ensure proper flow of information
  • Ability to work in hot and humid greenhouse conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and to stand, walk or sit for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to work on ladders
  • Weekend shifts may be required
  • Overtime as required
