Responsibilities
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of key cost and revenue drivers from procurement to finished product formulation, identifying and driving high ROI improvements throughout the organization.
  • Lead strategic planning and oversight of our core extraction and refining operations, supporting our long-term business plan by enhancing operational efficiencies and cost models while fostering collaboration across functional teams.
  • Facilitate collaboration across functional teams to develop and execute strategic initiatives, acting as the project leader by establishing timelines, setting priorities, assessing risks, and ensuring accountability.
  • Optimize biomass procurement practices to meet demand while minimizing costs and driving overall plant profitability.
  • Manage risk and crises at the operational level, evaluating threats and establishing contingency plans to mitigate or minimize risks internally and externally.
  • Oversee performance management of our extraction and refining operations, supporting and coaching the operational team through problem-solving workshops and deep dives to achieve key performance indicators.
  • Establish and oversee data analytics within our costing models to identify opportunities and design experiments that lead to benchmarking and the creation of new operational standards and procedures.
  • Set benchmarks for operational standards and costing models with a focus on increasing value creation and economic development opportunities.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent; preference given to industrial or chemical engineering disciplines.
  • Experience: 5+ years of process optimization experience in a manufacturing environment; preference given to experience within the chemical industry.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in lean manufacturing, process optimization, project management, and strategic planning.
  • Leadership Abilities: Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams, create collaboration through effective communication, enforce accountability, and leverage influence to drive change.
  • Business Acumen: Understanding of market dynamics, financial analysis, and risk management to support strategic planning.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
  • Personal Qualities: Resourceful, autonomous, disciplined self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of an extended team.
  • Additional Requirements: Must pass a criminal background check.

The selected candidate for this role will be required to work onsite in Aylmer. Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada and currently reside in the country, as we do not offer sponsorship.
