Accounting Clerk
Summary
Natra Chocolate America requires an Accounting Clerk to support the Senior Accountant to update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing financial business transactions within the ERP system.
Job Duties
- Posts customer payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions.
- Posts revenues by verifying and entering transactions form lock box and local deposits.
- Updates receivables by totaling unpaid invoices.
- Maintains electronic record of invoices, debits, and credits.
- Verifies validity of account discrepancies by obtaining and investigating information from sales, trade promotions, customer service departments, and from customers;
- Resolves valid or authorized deductions by entering adjusting entries.
- Resolves invalid or unauthorized deductions by following pending deductions procedures.
- Resolves collections by examining customer payment plans, payment history, credit line; coordinating contact with collections department.
- Summarizes receivables by maintaining invoice accounts; coordinating monthly transfer to accounts receivable account; verifying totals; preparing report.
- Issue checks/prepare EFT for accounts payable.
- Record business transactions to the general ledger system.
- Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
· Assist external auditors by gathering data and audit support as requested.
· Assist with preparing reporting for parent company (monthly) and financial statements as required.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
- Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
Qualifications
· 3+ years of experience in a similar role.
· College diploma
Requirements
· Demonstrated analytical, organizational and problem solving abilities.
· Ability to work independently, using sound judgement and under strict deadlines.
· Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
· Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
· Able to work well under pressure
· Strong working knowledge of MS Office applications (proficient in Excel).
· Experience with ERP Systems (Microsoft Dynamics AX preferable) is an asset
· Strong attention to detail
· Knowledge of Spanish or French (would be an asset)
