Shipping Team Leader

RATE: $26.50/hour plus premiums!


Shifts Available: Mon to Thurs 4x10's 4:00p-2:00a

Location: Woodstock, ON

Your Role and Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Attend meetings as required
  • Ensure all Health & Safety procedures are followed
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of continuous improvement of procedures
  • Ensure team members receive training to correctly perform job duties and safely operate equipment and machines
  • Assist in the development or revision of work practises
  • Observe/assist the evaluation of employee performance to ensure compliance/standards
  • Assist in team building, motivation and conflict resolution amongst team members
  • Facilitate team meetings
  • Audit/observe/hold team accountable to company standards, policies, and procedures
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Provide ongoing feedback and coaching
  • Identify opportunities for improving labour relations
  • Accurately complete and maintain all relevant and appropriate documents
  • Assist in training employees for various positions in the Shipping Department
  • Act as back-up / assist when team is busy or away
  • All other relevant duties

Skills/ Capabilities:

  • Excellent attendance and willing to work overtime when required
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Good communication, problem solving, organization and planning skills
  • Self motivated, team player, fast learner, able to work with minimal supervision
  • Crane and Forklift license (or be willing to obtain)

Key Requirements:

  • Grade 12 or Equivalent
  • 2 years related experience

Additional Technical and Professional Requirements:

  • Knowledge of procedures, policies and MOS's
  • Valid Ontario Class 'G' Driver's License (as required)
  • Computer efficiency skills in all required areas
