Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Perform technical studies and conduct analysis of existing or proposed operations
  • Develop plans and recommendations for equipment and correct methods of manufacturing including sequence of operations and detailed methodology of complex assemblies and installations, and detailed components
  • Assist with make or buy proposals
  • Generate the paperwork necessary for the manufacturing and assembly of components
  • Design and develop new tooling or improve existing tooling to improve manufacturing
  • Recommend corrective actions for areas of responsibility
  • Investigate and add in the repair proposals for Non-Conformances that occurs during production.
  • Perform product-ability studies from engineering drawings
  • Employ sound project management skills to deliver projects in a timely and complete manner
  • Work on special projects
  • Ensure quality policies are being practiced
  • Make recommendations and implement procedures to improve quality
  • Initiate and maintain accurate daily and weekly activity status based on work output
  • Perform all work in accordance with Health and Safety policies
  • Other related duties as assigned

Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years experience
  • Experience with production tooling design and implementation
  • Experience with drawing control
  • Experience with BOM control and maintenance
  • Experience working in an ERP environment
  • Familiarity with aviation manufacturing processes, terms and support systems
  • Knowledgeable about engineering configuration requirements, tooling, quality control, plant safety, blueprint reading and shop math
  • Knowledge of CAD software such as CATIA, SOLID EDGE, AUTOCAD
  • Knowledge of good machining and fabrication practices is an asset
  • Ability to work with there hands and understands how to use basic shop tools.

Educational or Academic Requirements:

  • Manufacturing Engineering Technologist Diploma or equivalent education and experience
