Platemaker: Photopolymer Operator / Die Mounter / Etcher/Vulcanizer

 

Department: Graphics/ Manufacturing

Reports To: Plant Manager/Team Lead

Purpose of Position:
• To manufacture photopolymer, rubber, silicone, and magnesium plates as per yellow dockets
• Effective plaining of Time and Schedules of projects.
• Completed reports and other paperwork related to ongoing project.
• Improved relationship with clients, potential clients, and employees.
• Maintained all machinery.

Result Areas of the Position:
• Production of quality plates in a timely manner leads to higher customer satisfaction.
• All delivery requirements are met on time.
• Proper level of inventory is maintained by keeping count of it.
• Dockets and paperwork filled in as required.
• Pro-active troubleshooting of problems as required.
• Professional work ethic maintained.

Qualifications:
• Working knowledge of flexographic printing and processes.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• General knowledge of basic computer skills with graphic design programs.
• Ability to proactively trouble shoot problems with Mechanical aptitude is an asset.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and positively with all company staff.
• Ability to work in a multi-tasked, fast paced multi-department environment.
• Flexibility in working hours.
• Reliable attendance.
• Strong work ethic.
• Ability to lift 20-60lbs and good coordination.
• Background security check.

Activities and Tasks:
• Prepare and vulcanize rubber/ silicone plates as required per yellow dockets and customer specs. Grind plates as required.
• Operate and produce quality photopolymer plates to customer specs for both liquid and sheets systems.
• Operate and produce quality magnesium plates to customer specs.
• Set up equipment and take care of maintenance as required.
• Change wash out systems, acid bath, rolls, inks when required.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area. • Place orders of materials needed with Site Director or Accounting/Purchasing Personnel.
• Record and submit reports.
• Perform customer follow up when necessary.
• Strive for Customer satisfaction both external and internal.
• Keep manager informed, maintain, and submit reports.
• Interact positively with company personnel.
• Assist in quoting of special proposals.
• Help with the field sales calls when required.
• Able to lift 20-60lbs – 36” in height as required.
