Fine Grade Road Grader Operator

We are seeking a Fine Grade Road Grader Operator who is aspiring to reach their potential in the field of construction, reporting to the Site Foreman or Superintendent.  J-AAR Civil Infrastructure Group is part of J-AAR Ltd. responsible for heavy civil contracting.    

 

Environment 

 

A Fine Grade Road Grader Operator is required to perform fine grade finishing and preparing road surfaces, ensuring that they are level, even and free from debris. The Fine Grade Road Grader Operator will also precisely spread materials to dry and prep roads and construct road surfaces to road specifications. 

 

How you will make an IMPACT 

  • Operate heavy equipment, in a safe and appropriate manner and maintain proper awareness of one’s surroundings while operating on roadways 
  • Proven experience operating road grading equipment 
  • Strong understanding of grading techniques and site prep 
  • Knowledge of road construction materials, road construction processes and industry requirements 
  • Perform routine cleaning, maintenance and daily equipment inspections 
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment  
  • Maintain positive company image in appearance, conduct, and communication 
  • Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations, and compliances 
  • Other duties as assigned 

 

How you WOW us  

 

  • High School Diploma or GED 
  • 1-3 years related experience preferred 
  • A valid drivers license
  • Ability to work extended hours when necessary  
  • Ability to work in an outdoor setting including inclement weather, such as, exposure to heat, humidity, and dust 
  • Must be able to lift/carry up to 50lbs 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a crew 
  • Ability to keep accurate records  
  • Reliable and punctual  
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment 
  • Demonstrated commitment to Health & Safety 
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing 
  • GPS machine control experience is a plus
