The Electrician's main job is to set up, take care of, and fix electrical systems for our equipment and the facility. They are also responsible for regular maintenance activities, predicting potential issues, and making necessary improvements. The Electrician's knowledge and ability to quickly resolve electrical issues is critical to reducing downtime and allowing our printing machines to work as efficiently as possible.
Here are some of the different activities you’ll be asked to do:
- Values that mirror ours, from the Inside Out: Inspire, Nimble, Supportive, Inclusive, Driven, Empathetic.
- Identify and problem-solve electrical issues for various Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's), like Allen Bradley, Rexroth, and Siemens, as well as variable speed and servo drives, on highly automated production lines.
- Help set up electrical systems for new equipment and production lines.
- Modify and design electrical diagrams.
- Make sure all electrical work follows safety regulations and codes.
- Examine and test electrical systems and equipment for damage, issues, and safety concerns.
- Assist in both scheduled and predictive maintenance for various equipment, and keep track of inventory and labor using computerized systems.
- Work with other trade groups and contractors on assigned projects.
- Daily updates to department leaders on repair activities.
- Follow the Quality Management System and adhere to Health & Safety and Environmental Management System policies and procedures.
- A valid Ontario industrial electrician trade licence 442A.
- 5+ Years as an Industrial Electrician.
- Experience in fixing various types of PLC's (like Allen Bradley, Rexroth, Siemens), logic controllers, variable speed and servo drives.
- Ability to read and troubleshoot electrical drawings.
- Experience working with general power distribution systems.Experience in HMI programming, for example, RSView.
- Good knowledge of different networks such as Ethernet/IP, DH+, RIO, DeviceNet, ControlNet, Modbus2, RS232.
- Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and lifting up to 60 pounds.
- A proven ability to work well in a team and lead problem-solving efforts.
- Strong awareness of safety and a good safety record.
- Shift Flexibility. Willingness to work in a three-shift rotation.
