Project & PM Lead

The Project & PM Lead is responsible for leading technical projects and ensuring the effective execution of preventive maintenance activities to support safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This role plays a key part in minimizing equipment downtime and maximizing asset performance through hands-on maintenance support, technical project coordination, and collaboration with internal teams and external vendors. Responsibilities include managing the Preventive Maintenance (PM) program using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), coordinating work orders, maintaining accurate spare parts inventory, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Ensures maintenance and project tasks align with operational goals, cost-effectiveness, and safety standards to drive overall operational efficiency.

1. Project Management & Execution

  • Manage and execute technical projects from planning through successful completion on time and on budget.
  • Coordinate technical project work to meet safety, quality, and operational standards.
  • Prepare project justifications, obtain quotes, and manage vendor work to ensure timely, cost-effective service delivery.
  • Oversee vendor and contractor relationships, including contract management and supply procurement.

2. Preventive Maintenance Program

  • Lead and manage the Preventive Maintenance (PM) program to ensure timely and efficient task completion.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs to ensure equipment reliability and optimal performance.
  • Operate and maintain the CMMS for scheduling, tracking, and reporting on all maintenance activities.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts to optimize preventive maintenance processes.

3. Work Order & Equipment Coordination

  • Coordinate and prioritize maintenance work orders to minimize downtime and operational disruption.
  • Ensure all work orders are completed in alignment with quality, safety, and operational efficiency goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align maintenance schedules with production and facility needs.

4. Inventory Management & Procurement

  • Develop, implement, and maintain a spare parts inventory system or database to ensure availability of critical components.
  • Order, manage, and maintain inventory of parts and supplies to support ongoing maintenance and projects.
  • Review and evaluate service provider and vendor contracts periodically to ensure competitive pricing and reliable service.

5. Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all safe working practices and ensure proper use of required safety equipment.
  • Promote a safe work environment and comply with company safety procedures and regulatory standards.

6. Other Responsibilities

  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.

Qualifications:

  • College degree or technical diploma.
  • Relevant licenses or certifications (e.g., electrical, mechanical, HVAC).
  • Strong project management experience, with a proven track record of successfully leading complex projects from initiation to completion.
  • Electrical/Mechanical experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Hands-on experience with preventive maintenance programs and CMMS systems.
  • Experience coordinating vendors, contractors, and external service providers.
  • Proven ability to perform equipment troubleshooting, minor repairs, and routine maintenance.
  • Familiarity with spare parts inventory systems or databases.
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and equipment documentation.
  • Comfortable working independently or in a team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Strong team player with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage time, prioritize tasks, and handle multiple responsibilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in all work.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and email communication.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical documents.
  • Comfortable working with hand and power tools for repair and maintenance tasks.
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and participate in ongoing training.
  • Familiarity with safety procedures, regulations, and use of PPE.

Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
