Buckland is looking for a Junior Accountant
What you’ll be doing
The Junior Accountant provides support to the financial department by managing daily accounting tasks. This role is part of a team of professionals working to maintain order and transparency for the company’s finances. The Junior Accountant will be well-versed in accounting principles and able to work comfortably with numbers and have a great attention to detail.
You will be responsible for…
- Prepare the General Ledger detail and supporting reconciliations
- Reconcile and maintain Capital Assets Accounts.
- Prepare monthly Financial Statements
- Prepare year end account reconciliation and reporting in preparation of year-end review by external auditors.
- Process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with internal policies
- Perform accounts payable duties as necessary
- Perform accounts receivable duties as necessary
- Work with team members and other departments to manage reporting requirements across the organization.
- Compile or review internal financial reports used by other departments
- Perform other responsibilities as required.
What we need from you
- Post- Secondary education, preferable in Business and Finance.
- 1 year of experience at Junior financial level, or equivalent.
- Working towards an accounting designation
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Highly adaptable to changing technology
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Access, Word)
- Strong interpersonal, communications and multi-tasking skills.
- Ability to work independently.
