Unifin International is a business unit within Wabtec Corporation’s Components Division.  Originally founded in the 1920’s, Unifin International is an electric equipment-cooling company, focused on the power generation and transmission markets.  Our primary business is within North America, but it reaches worldwide from legacy fossil fuel and nuclear plants, to growing renewable energy power grids.

 

Who will you be working with?

As a member of the team at Unifin International, you will be collaborating with the other Finance team members, Sales, Production, Quality Assurance and Corporate teams to develop and implement standard operating procedures and work instructions.

 

How will you make a difference?

  • Uphold priorities of Safety, Quality, Continuous Improvement, Teamwork and Leadership;
  • Develop, optimize and improve export compliance classification processes to enhance productivity, on-time delivery and customer relationships.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to reduce costs, minimize waste and increase efficiency.

 

What do we want to know about you?

  • Currently enrolled in Bachelor of Business/Commerce/Economics Degree;
  • Strong knowledge of process optimization techniques;
  • Knowledge of international trade is an asset;
  • Very proficient with Excel;
  • Knowledge of business accounting
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work well with a cross-functional technical team
  • Positive, high-energy individual with strong organizational skills, the ability to work independently and in group settings;
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
  • Strong project-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

 

What will your typical day look like?

  • Develop an efficient process to achieve USMCA certification of locally manufactured products through partnership with the local operations team, suppliers and corporate export compliance team supported by external 3rd party service provider.
  • Swiftly work through backlog of existing projects to ensure no delays in clearance for exporting
  • Continuous improvement to drive efficiencies in the go-forward process
  • Develop a tool to allow all parties to visualize the status of each project in the journey to USMCA clearance from 3rd party certification team and maintain real-time status and present to key stakeholders.
  • Provide training and guidance to production teams on new processes and procedures to ensure successful implementation;
  • Maintain detailed documentation for all aspects of assigned projects;
  • Interact with customers, both internal and external, in order to develop a clear understanding of all requirements and scope of work;
  • Other ad-hoc projects as required

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk and hear.  The employee would work at a desk for approximately 80% of the workday.  The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and depth perception.

 

Safety glasses, steel-toed safety shoes and hearing protection must be worn when on the shop floor.
