Veterinary Purchasing Co. Ltd. (VP) located in St. Marys, Ontario, is the largest Veterinary Supplier in Ontario and is currently looking to add dynamic individuals within our Warehouse for the position of:
Student Warehouse Worker
Student Warehouse Workers are responsible for performing various warehouse duties associated with the proper picking, verifying, and packing of product orders; ensuring that clinics receive their product in good condition and in a timely manner. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Pick and verify product orders to ensure accuracy.
- Pack orders to ensure product is not damaged during transport and that all shipping labels are applied, as required.
- Maintain warehouse to ensure that the proper amount of product is available and that shelves are neat and free of excess packaging material and debris.
- Complete daily warehouse preparation jobs, as assigned.
- Understand and follow all applicable Standard Operating Procedures as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Note: This position requires employees to walk/stand for the entirety of their shift, and lift up to 50lbs, as needed.
Health & Safety
- Works in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
- Conducts self with regard for safety of employees; is aware of safety and evacuation procedures.
- Report any health & safety violations or hazards to your Supervisor.
Good Manufacturing Practices:
- Follow and understand all relevant Standard Operating Procedures with respect to Good Manufacturing Practices
Skills and knowledge required:
· Must be a minimum of 15 years of age
· Strong written & verbal communication
· Ability to work with minimal supervision
· Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Schedule:
Operational days are Sunday through Friday. This position requires availability to work every Sunday and all scheduled statutory holiday Mondays, with the Sunday prior to the holiday provided as a day off in lieu.
- Monday to Friday: 3:30/4:00 PM to 9:00PM (as scheduled)
- Reduced schedules are permitted during the school year to accommodate education and extracurricular activities, provided advance notice is given.
- Schedule will be posted 6 weeks in advance; extra shifts will be scheduled if needed.
** Schedules subject to change depending on business needs. Hours of work to be increased for the months of July & August.
