Position Description:

  • Provide Reliability and Maintainability engineering services to Engineering, Development & Technology
  • Responsible for the development, maintenance and improvement of the reliability engineering analysis tools, techniques and processes used by ED&T including system level R&M requirements and allocations, reliability block diagrams (RBD), level of repair (LORA), life cycle cost (LCC), failure modes effects analysis (FMEA), reliability centered maintenance (RCM) and field failure analysis
  • Investigate opportunities for the application of reliability engineering or related analyses to enhance the processes employed by GDLS
  • Responsible for coaching and training personnel in the execution of reliability engineering analyses
  • Monitor and recommend opportunities for quality improvements of the reliability engineering analyses
  • Proactively work with design engineering to ensure R&M issues are raised and addressed during the design phase
  • Support design engineering in the development of qualification tests
  • Support generation of BOE's for new work and the monitoring/statusing of tasks
  • Involvement in special projects that require R&M Subject Matter Expert support


Position Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Master Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 5-7 years of Reliability and Maintainability Experience
  • Extensive understanding and experience using R&M, maintenance and logistics analysis (e.g LCC, FMEA, MTA, LSAR, RBD, FTA, LORA, Sparing, etc. )
  • Knowledge ad/or experience in the application of relevant military standards, military equipment usage and doctrine
  • Strong product knowledge of the LAV or other mobile equipment automotive systems
  • Experience with B&P development procedures and requirements
  • Ability to travel (5% Cdn) and (5% US & Int'l) and possess/be able to acquire and maintain a valid passport
  • Must be able to meet Anthropometrical Size Restrictions for confined space


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience dealing with customer ILS requirements
  • Advanced University Degree or Professional Engineer License
  • Certified DFSS Green Belt
  • System Integration experience (design and/or logistics)
  • Experience with use of LSA techniques and software tools (RCM, SLICWave, FMECA, EDCAS, V-Metric, etc.)
