Senior Production Scheduler

The Company owns and operates a 158-acre state-of-the-art greenhouse, outdoor and processing facility located in Strathroy, ON as well as a fully-licensed 26,000 sq. ft. Aylmer, ON processing facility, specializing in cannabis extraction. With the addition of Starseed Medicinal, a medical-centric brand, Entourage has expanded its multi-channeled distribution strategy. Starseed’s industry-first, exclusive partnership with LiUNA, the largest construction union in Canada, along with employers and union groups complements Entourage’s direct sales to medical patients. The Company maintains strategic relationships in the seniors’ market and supply agreements with Shoppers Drug Mart as well as eight provincial distribution agencies where adult-use brands Color Cannabis and Saturday are sold.

Summary

Reporting directly to the VP of Operations, the Senior Production Scheduler will be responsible for determining and setting manufacturing production schedules across 3 facilities: Strathroy, Aylmer and Guelph. The Senior Production Scheduler ensures that all finished goods are available in the supply chain and that inventory is maintained at acceptable levels. The focus is analyzing forecast information from demand planning, along with key operational parameters such as space capacity, cultivar dynamics, logistical flow and labour information to ensure customer orders are delivered in full. The Senior Production Scheduler presents analytical data and production efficiencies to upper management on a regular basis.

Responsibilities

  • Validates and approves all scheduling activities at Entourage’s production sites (Strathroy, Aylmer and Guelph) and all production areas including cultivation, extraction, packaging and finishing
  • Leads the scheduling team in strategic planning initiatives, creating contingency plans, etc.
  • Create long term production and yield forecasts considering available capacity, cultivar type, production timing and new product or packaging developments
  • Issue and allocate materials into Sage Work Orders and provide allocated work orders to production to execute against schedule
  • Create and report daily, weekly and monthly production results as well as efficiency
  • Develop contingency production plans to optimize successes and challenges
  • Communicate with procurement/purchasing, cultivation and inventory teams to ensure supply of consumable goods is provided to execute against forecasted schedule. Participate in and provide inputs for the monthly integrated planning meetings.
  • Communicate with Quality Assurance department to ensure forecasted items are approved and released for processing, packaging and/or sale prior to allocation into the schedule or work orders
  • Communicate with Demand Planning on what will be allocated for current & future lots to allocate into production schedules appropriately
  • Management of scheduling team

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in supply chain management or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in supply chain planning and experience working and collaborating with demand and supply professionals
  • Knowledge and experience in IBP and/or Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP)
  • CPIM, PMAC/CPP type designation preferred
  • Background in developing and managing KPI (Key Performance Indicators)
  • Experience using ERP/MRP software: SAGE
  • Project planning and communication skills (written/oral)
