Job Summary
Reporting to the Plant Controller, the Cost Accountant will support the Operations Finance and Operations teams in financial activities and reporting, including but not limited to below activities. 

Responsibilities
  • Prepare monthly inventory valuation reporting and required updates / adjusting entries
  • Prepare preliminary new product costing and analysis
  • Support in reviewing, analyzing and reporting on inventory valuation, inventory transactions, direct and indirect labour, direct material, subcontract costs, and other overhead costs incurred
  • Prepare weekly/monthly reporting of actual production costs vs. standard costs to support company goals
  • Improve and create reporting tools to support financial management of the sites
  • Support various accounting and finance projects as required, including month-end and other close activities, as well as other operations finance activities
 
Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of experience in costing, in a manufacturing environment
  • University degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Accounting designation or actively working towards (CPA / CGA / CMA / CA)
  • Excellent analytical skills; PowerBI development experience considered an asset
  • Experience with advanced ERP systems, such as Microsoft Business Central, NAV, or SAP
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Must demonstrate a commitment to excellence and attention to detail, delivering accurate information and balanced analysis in a consistent and timely manner
