Unifin International, a division of Wabtec Canada Inc., is a business unit within Wabtec Components’ Heat Transfer & Energy Solutions (HTES) team.  Originally founded in the 1920‘s, Unifin International is an electric equipment cooling company, focused on the power generation and transmission markets.  Our primary business is within North America, but it reaches worldwide from legacy fossil fuel and nuclear plants, to growing renewable energy power grids.

 

Who will you be working with?

 

Working with the local Unifin finance team you’ll interact daily with both on-site staff as well as various stakeholders of the Cardinal business including operations, logistics and sales team members.

 

How will you make a difference?

 

As a member of the Unifin International accounting team, you will be responsible for all accounting related to the Cardinal Pumps division of Unifin International.  You will be a partner with the Unifin Business Unit Controller in providing controllership leadership, ensuring SOX compliance and timely financial reporting for the business.  Month end closing and forecasting will be key areas of contribution.

 

What do we want to know about you?

  • Completion of a Post-Secondary program (preferably in Accounting); CPA or pursuing an asset;
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years’ related experience in accounting; manufacturing accounting experience highly valued;
  • Ability to work independently, within a team and across multiple departments;
  • Desire to learn, develop and earn opportunities for greater responsibilities;
  • Must have the ability to commute to the London Ontario manufacturing site.

 

What will your typical day look like?

Business partner to Finance controller:

  • Provide and interpret financial information/data to support business decisions;
  • Support the financial and strategic planning & analysis including development of budget;
  • Ensure accounting accuracy and producing reliable and timely financial statements monthly.

 

Financial reporting support for all areas of financial operations including:

  • Primary finance and accounting lead for Cardinal manufacturing plant;
  • Month end closing, forecast variance analysis and reporting;
  • High level weekly information including key business metrics;
  • Forecasting and management of accounts;
  • All ERP-related processes.

 

Cash Management support:

  • Cash management including cash reporting;
  • Maximization of cash from operations.


Compliance work support:

  • SOX reporting;
  • All audit & tax compliance, working with Wabtec corporate tax team;
  • Compliance with US GAAP accounting;
  • Leadership on account reconciliation reviews & open item resolution.

 

You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.
