Planning Coordinator 


Introduction 
Planning Coordinators reports to the Master Scheduler of our Supply Chain department. Planning Coordinators are responsible for supporting the Master Scheduler in day-to-day planning activities. This entails the preparation of work orders, organization and reporting of production data, as well as interdepartmental coordination for the following steps: product filling (vapes, tinctures, balms, etc.), label printing, finished product packaging and master casing. The successful candidates will also be required to provide backfill for Packaging Supervisors.

Position Overview: 
  • Review and interpret formulation, filling and production and schedules 
  • Provide backfill support for the Master Scheduler, as required to cover workload and vacations 
  • Work closely with the Master Scheduler and Packaging Manager to optimize filling and packaging operations 
  • Provide backfill support the Packaging Supervisors, as required 
  • Create work orders for all finished product processes. This entails organizing all relevant information from the production schedule, purchase orders and the product specification sheets. 
  • Update tracking tools (excel and ERP) to report the status and the results of a production run 
  • Allocate finished product to specific purchase orders 
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain, Packaging Operations, QA and the Brand management team to ensure effective execution of the finished product production schedule 
  • Review all completed work orders for completeness and correctness. Investigates discrepancies, as required. 
  • Update work orders to reflect any holds, changes to the schedule, etc. and effectively communicate these changes to all impacted parties 
  • Pick and deliver materials required for production runs, as required 
  • Any other tasks which might deem appropriate for this role 
 
Qualifications:  
  • Post secondary education in a related discipline 
  • 5+ years experience in production coordination within a manufacturing environment 
  • Experience using ERP systems is an asset 
  • Experience within Cannabis industry is considered an asset 
  • Strong time management and organizational skills 
  • Collaborative, professional communication skills 
  • High attention to detail 
  • Demonstrated experience from past roles where you drive focus on production priorities, delegating tasks and troubleshooting issues both on the technical and staffing side 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Required to pass a criminal background check 
  • This role will be on a rotating shift; must be able to work various shift schedules as required

Compensation

$50,000.00 - $60,000.00
