Summary
The Production Supervisor oversees and coordinates the daily activities of production members.  They are responsible for planning work schedules, assigning work, implementing policies and procedures, recommending improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.  They also ensure compliance with all safety, quality and housekeeping standards.  This position has direct reports which include Team Leaders and an overall team size of 20 Production Team Members.  They have full shift responsibility. ASCI offers a stimulating, high-tech work environment backed by competitive wages and company paid benefits package.  Candidates must be willing to work on a two-week shift rotation schedule; 5:30 am to 2:30 pm and 4:00 pm to 1:00 am.  Periodic overtime may be required.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensures effective member relations daily, providing member coaching and development
  • Makes employment decisions and resolves member concerns through problem resolution
  • Supports continuous improvement activities within the team through active participation and direction
  • Manages team performance measures and provides regular reports
  • Multi-facetted position; responsible for Quality, Production, Production Control & Maintenance
  • Maintains the member timekeeping system
  • Counsels, records, and applies appropriate discipline as necessary
  • Develop Team Leaders to effectively oversee the daily routines of members
  • Works closely with and takes direction from the Plant Manager

Job Qualifications
  • Excellent people skills with demonstrated leadership ability
  • 2-5 years’ experience in a supervisory position
  • Excellent work ethic
  • Good working knowledge of manufacturing systems, processes and materials
  • Good knowledge of the Toyota production system would be an asset
  • Have a valid passport and the ability to travel to the U.S. for periodic training

Education
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Post-secondary education a definite asset
