You as a Formwork Superintendent will:

  • Participate in supervision and the overall safety and quality of the formwork aspect of the project.
  • Ensure implementation of all requirements for Health & Safety are established for the department. 
  • Work closely with craft team members and develop a team environment. 
  • Must understand & implement basic concrete principles such as concrete mix designs, admixtures, curing, cold and hot weather procedures for concrete placing and finishing, formwork systems, etc. 
  • Adherence to safety standards. Ensure trade and subcontractor site safety compliance with Turner standards and all applicable 
  • Creating schedules and determining the sequencing of work. Must be able to update and maintain schedules when impacts arise. Communicate regular schedule updates and impacts to the client as well as subcontractors. 
  • Mentor project team members to ensure career growth and development

Is this the right role for you?

  • You have a construction or technical related degree or diploma in engineering or related field. An equivalent combination of training and work experience on large commercial projects (P3, Residential, Commercial, Institutional, Retail & Healthcare).
  • Extensive experience with heavy building formwork and slip forming.
  • You have an advanced knowledge of various construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, quality control and engineering drawings.
  • You have the ability to quickly identify problem situations, evaluate alternative causes, produce workable solutions and lead a large team to successful completion.
  • You enjoy working in a team environment and providing mentorship and guidance to the site team.
