Manufacturing Robot Technician

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Robotics Manufacturing Lead this role is responsible to install, test, maintain and repair robots in production cells and maintain the spare robots for immediate use in emergencies or projects. Increase productivity and efficiency through the application of robotic principles to improve efficiency and effectiveness of company personal and assets.

Robotics Technicians will work with, assist, and train other technicians and maintenance personnel on a three shift rotating basis.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Program robot paths, work on program structure, create programs with logic and communicate with external sources.
2. Weld interface, improvements, implementation
3. Support existing programs and work on continuous improvement for those programs
4. Work on projects and implementation of new robots and programming
5. Perform PM on production robots and rebuild/repair in a shop-based environment
6. Participates in equipment design for capacity improvements
7. Troubleshoot and diagnose communication (PLC), electrical and mechanical issues with robots
8. Comply with company policies and procedures supporting the quality management system, environmental management system, and health and safety.

Educational Requirements and Skills:

1. Experience and knowledge in robotic welding (MIG, spot, draw arc, resistance)
2. Knowledge of programming, robotic language
3. Experience in teaching and troubleshooting robotic issues
4. Excellent computer skills, excel, word, CAD, 3D software, robotic programming software
5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
