Job Description
Process Engineers
Renix is accepting applications to join the company’s team, seeking motivated individual to join us as Process Engineers. You will be working on-site at Renix’s customer locations, beginning with a significant project in Europe.
The Process Engineer will leverage their experience in separation & purification technologies and industrial bio-based processes such as those used in biofuels, brewing, fermentation, food / feed processing, to support Renix’s customer projects. Responsibilities include for example:
- Prepare test plans, sampling plans and procedures, analytical methods for process development projects.
- Perform lab and pilot scale testing for process development, validation and scale-up.
- Set up, operate, and maintain lab equipment and pilot scale equipment.
- Conduct literature reviews and scientific research on relevant industrial processes.
- Prepare complete, accurate, up-to-date and secure physical and electronic project records, and ensure all test results and calculations are verified for accuracy.
- Develop and review P&ID’s, mass & energy balances, specifications, equipment sizing calculations, CAPEX/OPEX costing models, HAZOP and risk assessments.
- Incorporate applicable legal, safety and regulatory requirements throughout project delivery.
- Create formal technical reports and presentations.
Qualifications:
Successful candidates are self-starters who demonstrate initiative, desire to grow with the company, and are excited by the energy and excitement of an innovative process development environment. Qualifications include:
- Post-secondary education in relevant Engineering discipline (Chemical/Biochemical/Process/Mechanical Engineering); Professional Engineering Designation preferred
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience (R&D environments at lab, pilot, and commercial scale-up desired)
- Knowledgeable of liquid separation & purification processes (particularly Industrial Biochemical related
- processes) desirable
- Willing and qualified to travel extensively for long periods to customer sites internationally (Europe & US)
