Job Description
Q5X designs and manufactures professional wireless microphone transmitters and receivers for use in broadcast sports and entertainment. We sell globally to major sports leagues (NBA, NHL, NFL, MLB), broadcasters (ESPN, Turner, NBC, Amazon, Netflix), and reality TV productions (Big Brother, Love Island, Shark Tank and Jimmy Kimmel Live). Position
The candidate will work with both the production and engineering teams to support the design, testing, assembly, rework, and debugging of our products. The position requires fine motor skills to assemble, solder, and repair small electromechanical components. This is a full-time position based at our London, ON facility.
Requirements:
- Ability to analyze and interpret electronic schematics and layout design files
- Ability to solder and desolder prototype PCBs (down to 0201s, BGAs, fine-pitch components)
- Ability to test, troubleshoot, and repair electronic assemblies
- Ability to use diagnostic equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, etc)
- Ability to assemble miniature electro-mechanical components
- Logical and methodical approach to problem solving
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently and as part of a team
The ideal candidate will be someone who has:
- Experience working with analog and digital radio circuits
- Experience working with audio electronics
- Programming experience (Python scripting preferred)
