Armtec has the following career opportunity in their new, state of the art facility in Tillsonburg, ON:
 

REGIONAL HDPE MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Reporting to the Regional Manager, the Regional HDPE Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine and extensive maintenance on all machinery and equipment, including forklifts. Maintenance Technician’s look after day-to-day preventative and corrective maintenance needs of the HDPE facilities, ensuring that the equipment is in safe operating condition.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Troubleshoots mechanical, hydraulic and electrical problems related to production equipment such as extruder, corrugators, conveyors, blenders, grinders, blowers and conveying systems.
  • Performs repairs and adjustments on equipment as required.
  • Reads electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic plans and diagrams.
  • Performs preventative maintenance and inspection of equipment.
  • Maintains building and work area in a clean, uncluttered and safe condition.
  • Puts in place patches to reduce downtime related to failures.
  • Performs welding work on production equipment.
  • Maintains a clean, uncluttered and safe work area as designated.
  • Reports any equipment issues to the respective Manager.
  • Complies with and follows Company Health and Safety policies, procedures, practices and legislative standards.
  • Measure equipment performance to identify areas for improvement.
  • Travel throughout Ontario and Quebec required.

Education and Knowledge:

  • Licensed Industrial Millwright, Industrial Mechanic or automated systems electro mechanic diploma
  • 5+ years of experience in a product manufacturing or industrial setting
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing operations in the HDPE field, preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience toward troubleshooting hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and machine components.
  • Hands on experience repairing and completing preventative maintenance on different types of equipment.
  • Combinations of education and experience will be considered.
  • Demonstrated interest in learning and applying new mechanical and electrical skills.
  • Works in a fast paced environment independently and with cross function team members, with limited supervision.
  • Efficient, reliable with attention to detail. All work is completed with care to ensure quality.
