Position Summary
The Forklift Operator / Material Handler is responsible for the safe, efficient movement of materials throughout the manufacturing or warehouse facility. This includes loading, unloading, storing, staging, and supplying production lines while maintaining safety, accuracy, and productivity standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely transport, store, and organize materials using Forklift, Overhead Crane, Pump Carts and other Material Handling devices.
- Ensure proper labelling and documentation for inventory.
- Conduct daily maintenance check on material handling equipment.
- Verify the quantity and quality of materials received.
- Communicate any discrepancies to the Incoming Inspector.
- Collaborate with internal departments to locate missing packages, fix incorrect deliveries, and replace damaged products.
- Handle returns by completing technical documentation and other required communication.
- Maintain accurate records of stock levels and materials usage.
- Assist in stock replenishment and organization.
- Conduct routine cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Identify discrepancies and report findings to the appropriate personnel.
- Ensure timely distribution of materials to the correct departments.
- Assist in coordinating deliveries within the facility.
- Keep workspaces clean and organized.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks as required.
- Support production activities when additional help is needed.
- Follow safety protocols and operational procedures.
Qualifications
- Experience working in a manufacturing facility
- Ideally, experience in metal forming or welding
- Valid G2 driver’s license
- Ability to operate forklifts and pump carts
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to perform manual labor tasks
Note: Applicants will not be required to have prior Canadian work experience to be considered for this role.
