Buckland is looking for a Human Resources Generalist

What you’ll be doing

This position is responsible for the daily operations support, and administration of all transactional HR processes for their assigned location.

You will be responsible for

  • Serve as a subject Matter Expert (SME) for all relevant legislations, Companywide policies, and assist in the administration of the workforce management system/time and attendance solution.
  • Conduct new employee orientation and onboarding and support with group benefit administration including employee enrolments, handing inquiries, analysis of monthly billing statements and and assist with annual analysis of benefits programs.
  • Make Human Resources policy manual updates and recommendations, record, maintain, and report human resources information and employee files, performs clerical functions such as handling staff inquiries.
  • Assist with training and development program administration including updating employee training records
  • Health & Safety compliance, Short Term Disability, and Workers Compensation administration and related projects for the assigned office.
  • Collaborate with the HR team on special projects (i.e. implementation of software, compile HR metrics, Employee Opinion Survey, Time, and Attendance system enhancements).
  • Provide support to recruiter with maintaining compliant Job Descriptions and safe hiring practices in accordance with laws including background check processes and review of employment application in accordance with State laws.
  • Driven by results working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Provide exceptional team members support by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly and effectively.

 

What we need from you

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of general human resources experience particularly in legislation implementation and interpretation, health & safety, and labour standards.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to manage inquiries which may be of a sensitive and confidential nature.
  • Effective problem-solving skills and able to analyse and interpret data.
  • Intermediate MS Office knowledge.
  • Experience with Ceridian Dayforce an asset.
  • Must be legally eligible to work for the Company at all times.
  • Valid Passport and ability and desire to occasionally travel if required to other offices locations in CAD/USA/MEX.
