As the QA Team Lead, you are responsible for contributing to complex engineer projects and products and drive technical quality and stability.  You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Managers, Designers and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality software and hardware solutions.

You will work with your team to understand their pain points and working to improve the overall efficiency of the team and make organizational improvements.  You will also play a key role in performance reviews and coaching the individuals on your team. 

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate leadership by soliciting team feedback on process and efficiency gaps, collaborating on solutions, and enhancing the effectiveness of the quality team
• Assigning work to resources and monitor their progress towards successful completion
• Provide regular updates to necessary stakeholders to ensure transparency and alignment
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, document and execute testing strategies across diverse selection of products and projects
• Translate engineering and business requirements into detailed test plans and execute for both manual and automated testing
• Drive automated testing frameworks and tools to improve efficiency of testing
• Collaborate with the leadership team to ensure quality throughout the end-to-end delivery process
• Implement cybersecurity best practices through hardware and software design validation, conducting vigorous testing, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to mitigate security risks.
• Mentor, coach, and empower your team, fostering their professional development and growth through clear goals, expectations and a focus on maintaining a quality mindset

Who Are You?

• 6+ years of experience working in software or hardware development environment in a quality focused role
• 2+ years of leadership experience
• Degree or diploma in Engineering, Software and Information System Testing or relevant degree
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Self-motivated to succeed while working in a team-oriented environment
• Development experience is an asset 
• Experienced with requirements gathering tools (ex. Jama)
• Proficient in software integration techniques, version control systems and engineering tools (e.g., GitHub, Jira)  
• Well-versed in cyber security best practices and fundamentals 
• Demonstrated ability of leading, coaching and mentoring quality team members
