Job Description

Yurek Specialties Limited is a state-of-the-art processing facility in London, ON, which features the latest equipment to support the processing, production, and delivery of medical supplies and infusion equipment, along with related supplies, to the Elgin, Norfolk, Oxford, London-Middlesex, Huron, Perth, Grey, Bruce and Grand River counties.

We are currently looking for an Operations Supervisor to join our Yurek Specialties team in London, Ontario. We have the following positions available:
  • Weekend ONLY (Saturday – Sunday)
    • Day shift (one person)
    • Afternoon shift (one person)
Job Summary:
The purpose of the Operations Supervisor position is to oversee and coordinate daily operational activities to ensure efficient and effective production and service delivery. This role involves managing staff, optimizing processes, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The Operations Supervisor will play a crucial role in achieving operational excellence, meeting organizational goals, and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

The Operations Supervisor directly reports to the Leadership team.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and lead a team of operational staff across various departments (pick-and-pack, delivery, pharmacy, and fulfillment) to ensure effective and efficient operations.
  • Plan and direct workflow, assigning and reassigning work as needed to meet organizational goals and time sensitive orders.
  • Assist with the demand planning and order sequencing based on urgency, customer priority and inventory availability. Ensure timely and efficient fulfillment and delivery while maximizing resource utilization and minimizing delays.
  • Support and coach team members to achieve high performance. This includes providing regular feedback, conducting performance reviews, and disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Develop staff schedules, ensuring appropriate coverage for fluctuating demand, while in compliance with applicable regulations (ESA). Includes tracking employee time off, attendance violations, etc.
  • Promote cross-department collaboration and resource sharing for optimal utilization, focusing on continuous improvement opportunities to elevate operations and reduce costs.
  • Resolve operational issues and address escalated concerns in a timely manner.
  • Monitor and analyze KPI’s to assess operational effectiveness.
  • Assist in identifying, investigating and root cause analysis to resolve process deficiencies.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of operational policies and procedures.
  • Responsible to maintain an efficient, clean and safe workspace.
  • Responsible for the Health and Safety of team members with the support of management. Will be responsible for facility during second shift and weekends.
  • Ensure compliance to company policies and external regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • 2-4 years related Leadership experience; cross functional and/or pick-and-pack environment is considered an asset.
  • Highschool diploma required.
  • Excellent leadership and decision-making skills.
  • Energetic, strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of operational principles and policies.
  • Experience in implementing operational processes.
  • Digital mindset: Comfortable using a variety of software and ERP platforms and driving adoption of new tools as they are introduced to the business.
