Die Cast Wright St Supervisor
Primary Purpose of Position
Reporting to the Production Superintendent, the incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that production requirements and customer needs are met. environment, health & safety issues, both the prevention of incidents and the resolution of incidents as they occur. Responsible for the training and general well-being of employees (both orientation and on the job).
Major Responsibilities of Position
- Safety: Champion the Health, Safety and Environmental issues within the team including completing investigations regarding safety incidents and accidents. Consistently apply and enforce company rules and procedures, attend meetings, and prioritize team activities to meet or exceed team goals. Ensure that Weekly Safety Talks take place. Champion housekeeping and 6S – target 90% plant wide.
- Productivity: Manage the day to day operations; lead the team to make the best decisions possible, answer questions from other staff. Participate in launch and APQP activities. Ensure that all production numbers are met in accordance with customer requirements. Ensure that PM and Production Schedules are followed.
- Leadership and Supervision: Foster positive work environment, spending as much time on the production floor as required. Ensure that production personnel meet OEE targets. Prioritize team activities to meet or exceed goals. Conduct daily team meetings and assist in the development of the short and long-term action plans. Provide recognition to excellent performers. Address situations where performance improvement is needed. Conduct or participate in Corrective Action and discipline as required.
- Support TPM Activities in Area: Provide support for TMP activities as required. Encourage active participation and support in plants. Ensure that the proper documentation for all areas of production is completed. Mandatory training to be completed 100% monthly, as per annual schedule. Ensuring 100% quality parts are shipped to the customer, on time.
- Scheduling: Inputting daily attendance, including booking vacations, leave of absences, etc. and approving timecards. Managing die life in conjunction with Technical Team Members by establishing a system of rotation, preventative maintenance, etc. and scheduling the proper maintenance of dies.
- Communication: Conduct weekly team meetings and assist in the development of short and long term action plans, including providing adequate training for team members. Effectively communicating with all team members including email information.
- Customer Focus: Assisting in resolving conflicts, process problems and customer complaints.
- Evacuation Procedures: Receive all head counts from the Material Handlers and coordinate ERT activities. Maintain open contact with the ERT personnel and relay all necessary information to the Material Handlers and other personnel, as required.
- ERT: lead and encourage participation in the Emergency Response Team
- Other responsibilities as required, including special projects as they arise.

The position is responsible for maintaining effective relationships with:
- Customer of 3rd Party Temporary Employment Agencies for the provision of temporary labour.
- Direct report to Production Superintendent.
- Production Manager- continuous communication in all aspects of production and manpower concerns.
- Quality Engineers / Quality Techs – daily communication in regards to internal and external quality concerns, assisting in customer 8Ds and corrective actions.
- Production Team Members – support daily production operations
- Customer of Maintenance Team.
- CI group – working together on improving existing process, supporting new launches through CI activities

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment or progressive experience within Meridian through Supervisory Management Program. |

- Be familiar with the OH&S Act and Regulations
- Familiar with - MRC Basic Programming, XRC Basic Programming and NADCA Basic
