Milk Receiver

Shift: Tuesday to Saturday 2:00pm - 10:00pm

Overview of the Role

To ensure all raw milk received in plant is received safely, to ensure all milk is pasteurized before it goes to production.

How you will make contributions that matter:

• Receive Cow, Goat and Sheep Milk trucks

• To perform antibiotic (snap) testing on all milk received

• Responsible for transfer of milk from truck to silo

• Responsible for CIP of Silos

• Responsible for CIP of Trucks and Truck lines

• Responsible for cleaning and sanitation of Milk Receiving Bay

• Shipping whey out of plant

• Responsible fore start up procedures, including rinsing lines to remove sanitizer from the day before, performing a boiler blow down, as well as checking air and high pressure hoses

• Sets temperatures for production and is responsible for maintaining pressure in the lines and monitoring temperatures through out shift

• Responsible for CIP of Pasteurizer, Coagulation tank, Yogurt tank and Ricotta tank

• Cleans COP tanks

• Cleaning of sinks, ricotta baskets, barrel screens, floors, walls, silos and lines (inside and out)

• Cleans CIP tanks as needed

• Standing for average of 8 hours per day

• Operation of pump cart, involves pulling and pushing motions as well as pumping motion

• Ensure all GMP’s are followed and practices adhere to HACCP program

• Any other duties assigned by Plant Manager

You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:

• Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting and record keeping with the ability to adapt to changing environments quickly and easily

• Sound communication and interpersonal skills: demonstrated analytical and organizational skills.

• Must be self-motivated with a high degree of initiative and the ability to function independently and as part of a team.

• Ability to work independently

Academic/Educational Requirements

• Grade 12 or equivalent

Required Skills/Experience

• Previous experience in a food manufacturing setting

• Previous experience in physically demanding environment required
