Part Time Truck Driving Instructors

About the job

Fanshawe College is seeking interested and experienced Truck Driver Trainers to teach part-time in the Truck Driving programs for up to 24 hours per week.

Instructors are responsible for providing the leadership required for an effective learning environment for students. All instructors must have a current Signing Authority (SA) certificate and at least 3 years' Class A truck driving experience.

Hybrid Work: This position requires on-site presence and are not subject to hybrid work.

Please note: This position may require weekend and evening shifts.

  • Strong leadership skills and commitment to positive program and community development
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Current teaching experience with mature students and ability to relate effectively to a wide variety of learners
  • Commitment to teamwork
     
Specific Qualifications
 
  • Minimum post-secondary qualifications, college diploma
  • Possess a minimum 5-year recent driving history, with verifiable OTR tractor/trailer experience
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered; preference will be given to applicants meeting the education requirements
  • Current SA certification
  • Valid Class A license with Z endorsement
  • Satisfactory Drivers Abstract (zero demerit points) and CVOR
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Search
