This role is based in our Manufacturing Plant in London, ON, and reports to the Production Manager.

Job Summary

The Production Supervisor will be responsible for all production related activities in the London plant. This position is directly responsible for organizing and supervising plant floor activities while ensuring safety, product quality, and production outputs to achieve plant goals and objectives.

 

This position will be on the Night Shift.

 

Principal Responsibilities

  • Build shift schedules, allocating machines to operators, and adjusting as vital throughout the shift.

  • Ensure all areas are safe taking all vital actions in response to safety concerns.

  • Train employees on all aspects of the operation to ensure machines and tools are being utilized in a safe and accurate manner.

  • Verify and respond to Operators, Quality Control, and other departments throughout the plant regarding equipment adjustments and repairs, quality and material checks, and all other inquiries.

  • Ensure employees are provided with the necessary instructions, tools, packaging materials, and safety equipment.

  • Conduct daily transition meetings to communicate production status with all departments, and to provide information on machine and quality issues from outgoing shift.

  • Complete one-on-ones and performance reviews with all employees.

  • Participate in departmental and pre shift meetings to acquire and deliver necessary information relevant to production requirements, safety, and quality.

  • Understand and align with safety legislations and ensures employees work in compliance with corporate and site-specific safety rules and legislation.

  • Conduct workplace inspections and investigations.

  • Identify hazards and takes corrective action.

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum high school diploma, or community college preferred.

  • 3+ years’ experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity in a continuous operation facility.

  • Ability to work Nights on a continental shift basis.

  • Knowledge of injection molding, machine operations, technical ability, and quality control would be an asset.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal critical thinking and troubleshooting skills.

  • Ability to lead and empower teams to drive shared success.

  • Proactively generate development opportunities to engage and retain team.

  • Dedication to coach, train and mentor team members.

  • Optimally delegate work as needed to ensure team objectives are met.

  • Strong work ethic and desire to achieve goals and results.

  • Ability to evaluate situations independently using multiple sources of information.

  • Good understanding of procedures, concepts and general knowledge of other subject areas.
