The Group manufactures and globally markets some of the leading brands in respiratory care, including the AeroChamber® brand of valved holding chambers, the Aerobika® brand of OPEP devices, and the AeroEclipse® brand of nebulizers. Trudell Medical Limited is the Corporate entity within the Trudell Medical Group of Companies and operates out of our offices in London, Ontario Canada.

 

Sustainability Manager is a new role in our People and Culture Team.

 

This is an office-based role with the option of a hybrid work arrangement.

 

Must be available to come into the London, Ontario office 3 days per week.

You have the ability to manage requirements elicitation activities with a variety of stakeholders and manage a workload that involves tasks from concurrently running initiatives.

 

You have an undergraduate degree in science or engineering as well as at least 3 years of related experience with managing or leading corporate sustainability/ESG or corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs. You have proven experience in developing metrics, goals and action plans to advance corporate approaches in sustainability. You have previously gathered, and analyzed complex data, and synthesized the information to extrapolate insights. You are skilled at managing multiple tasks simultaneously and effectively, shifting priorities and demands when appropriate. You have experience presenting effectively with internal and external stakeholders and developing impactful awareness training on environmental and sustainability initiatives for senior/executive management. Project Management experience and working knowledge of Power BI are assets.

 

Reporting to the VP, Organizational Development, Culture and Strategy, you will operationalize the Company's sustainability vision. You will stay externally informed and bring relevant and timely expertise to Operating Company leaders to support their achievement of Sustainability Action Plans.

 

Specifically, you will focus on:

Action Planning

  • Provide technical support and guidance on sustainability related concepts, strategies and design
  • Support establishment of sound metrics
  • Support identification and/or creation of data gathering mechanisms and protocols
  • Establish resourcing commitments with operating company leaders to determine division of responsibilities at operating company (OpCo) level and corporate level
  • Support the establishment and maintenance of proper sustainability benchmarks using ESG measures, standards, and methodologies
  • Collaborate with other leaders to implement processes and technologies that reduce the organization's carbon footprint

 

Sustainability Program Development

  • Conduct or coordinate research and analysis to refine or develop corporate sustainability strategies that ensure that business practices, products, and services are environmentally friendly and compliant with government rules and regulations
  • Stay abreast of trends in renewable resources, sustainable work processes, and environmental science
  • Develop a corporate sustainability program(s) to complement and advance OpCo action planning deliverables; ensure alignment (i.e. not conflicting, not duplicating) other related programs, e.g. Occupational Health and Safety, Business Code of Conduct, etc.
  • Manage the sustainability program(s)

 

Reporting

  • Develop and maintain an ESG dashboard for functional leaders and the executive team, measure and monitor progress against ESG strategies, goals, metrics and performance targets, developing evaluation systems as required
  • Work with or on behalf of OpCos in response to external requests for sustainability reporting, e.g. EcoVadis
  • Proactively identify and support operating companies with data gathering, reporting compliance and analytics regarding environmental and sustainability projects
  • Continuously improve upon data analytics, reporting, and business development processes by reviewing standard operating procedures, formalizing internal processes, and testing enhancements

 

Communications

  • Promote and explain the organization's sustainability philosophy to internal and external audiences
  • Work with Digital Comms Specialist to develop multi-stream, multi-year communications plan for internal and external stakeholder audiences
  • Execute on communications plan
  • Represent the organization at various government and industry-wide meetings as required
