Role Purpose: Electrical Designers will be responsible for carrying out a variety of engineering duties including designing, researching, and prototyping new products/designs. They will also develop a detailed knowledge of current and past electrical/control systems in order to help with our service technicians with troubleshooting. They will collaborate across departments on various design projects, using in-depth knowledge of the latest design trends and engineering software.

Reports To: Engineering Manager

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for design control of all electrical drawings, electrical and hydraulic schematics as well as machine control software
  • Develop understand of current and past electrical systems to be able to help in troubleshooting of field issues encountered by service technicians, hands-on trouble shooting skills
  • Approval of resourcing of electrical components, aid with supplier development
  • Design improvements to current electrical wiring diagrams and schematics by updating electrical systems and components
  • Responsible for electrical design and controls for new machine development including programing and design some of which may be outsourced. Troubleshooting of prototype electrical/control systems. This will include development of the Wolfe App.
  • Create and maintain project/job documentation. Aid technical documentation coordinator with operation and service manuals and parts books.
  • Utilize proprietary software as well as other engineering skills and knowledge to assure that work product meets design criteria and operating conditions.
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineering team members and other departments (ex. Quoting, fabrication, assembly, etc.)
  • Effectively work with vendors and customers.
  • Provide technical and engineering support for day-to-day manufacturing issues and trouble shooting
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Postsecondary degree or diploma in electrical or electronic engineering or a related field
  • Previous engineering experience, including good understanding of the following (an asset):
  • Autocad Electrical
  • Mobile Equipment electrical design and control systems, CAN systems
  • Danfoss Plus 1 or similar electro-hydraulic systems
  • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)

Experience:

  • AutoCAD: 3 years (preferred)
