Introduction
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Junior Accountant will have the opportunity to be part of a fast growing and dynamic team. This individual will be responsible for a wide range of finance related duties. A consummate professional, this individual is comfortable in a manufacturing environment who is just beginning to establish best practices. The individual should have a very high comfort level with advanced features in MS Excel.

Motif Labs is a licensed cannabis extraction facility located in SW Ontario. Motif has 3 top-selling internal brands BoxHot, Floresense and Debunk. As well as operating a business-to-business enterprise, offering toll processing and contract manufacturing serviced to Licensed Producers (LP’s) and 3rd Party Brands. Responsibilities:

·            Prepare accounts receivable invoices and follow up on customer payments
·            Working with sales, accounting, and logistics to reconcile invoices to approved pricing and associated shipping documents
·            Preparing brand fee statements and ensuring all out of pocket expenses are charged back to the customers
·            Assist with period end accounting tasks; including balance sheets, income statements, inventory accounting, and various reporting.
·            Perform monthly analysis of product gross margin
·            Back-up the daily cash reporting function as required
·            Other duties as assigned

 
Qualifications:

• Post-secondary education in Accounting or Business (college or university)
• Planning on pursuing CPA designation or in progress considered an asset
• Creative problem solver, self-motivated, driven and willing to learn
• Strong organization skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
• Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate a professional and friendly manner
• Advanced skills in MS Office (particularly in Excel - pivot tables, advanced formulas)

  Note: An excel test will need to be completed as part of screening.
   
  WORKING CONDITIONS (HYBRID):
  This is a hybrid role where you will need to be on site at our production facility in Aylmer, Ontario with some flexibility to work remotely (1-2x per week). Motif provides all required PPE and has continued all safety protocols: a well-fitted mask must be worn at all times while inside our production areas and staff are to remain 2M+ apart.
