Role Overview:

The Reconditioning Manager at PIFL will be pivotal in ensuring the safe and efficient reconditioning of totes. This position is responsible for overseeing the reconditioning department, managing the Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for all incoming totes, and ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations. Reporting to the VP, Operations, you will be a key player in maintaining our high standards of quality and safety. Your expertise in industrial processes and your strategic vision will be instrumental in achieving our business goals. You will manage sales orders, drive process improvements, enhance efficiencies, and manage inventory to ensure smooth operations. Your First 90 Days:

First 30 Days: Orientation and Integration

Immerse yourself in the PIFL culture, products, and reconditioning processes. Participate in comprehensive training sessions, shadow experienced colleagues, and begin to engage with key stakeholders. Start managing basic reconditioning tasks under guidance.

Next 30 Days: Strategy and Engagement

Take on increased responsibility by independently managing the reconditioning processes. Develop and implement strategies to optimize the reconditioning operations. Begin identifying areas for improvement in the department.

Following 30 Days: Independence and Growth

Gain full responsibility for managing the reconditioning operations within your purview. Demonstrate strategic planning and problem-solving capabilities. Drive initiatives to enhance the efficiency and safety of reconditioning processes.

Success Metrics for the First 90 Days and Beyond:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the reconditioning department and manage the four reconditioning processes: including internal, reconditioning, re-wash, new bottles, and future process implementations.
  • Ensure all incoming totes have accurate and up-to-date Safety Data Sheets (SDS), including the management of retrieving the SDS and conducting product evaluations.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive reconditioning strategies to achieve business objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to maintain high standards of quality and safety.
  • Monitor and analyze reconditioning performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and drive results.
  • Collaborate with other departments to align reconditioning operations with overall company objectives.
  • Prepare and present reconditioning reports to senior management.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction through exceptional reconditioning services.
  • Develop and maintain reconditioning policies and procedures to standardize operations and ensure compliance with industry best practices.
  • Coordinate with the finance department to ensure accurate cost allocation for reconditioning activities.
  • Participate in potential building/department expansions, providing input and being actively involved in the design and layout process to ensure optimal workflow and efficiency.

Requisites:

  • Proven experience in process/department management within or a similar role in the manufacturing sector.
  • Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in a related discipline.
  • Proficiency in managing Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • Certification in safety or environmental management is an asset.
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies, such as Lean Six Sigma.
  • Proficient in adhering to environmental and safety regulations within the industrial sector.
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing environments and prioritize tasks effectively under pressure.
