Your Future:
  • Responsible for the electrical controls and process programming of plant infrastructure and process equipment.
  • Supporting electrical maintenance is also considered part of your job.
  • You will be trained in order to optimize your knowledge of our automated custom built machines.
  • You will be trained and responsible for maintaining HACCP standards.
  • You will be involved in the development of reliability strategies and preventative maintenance programs.
  • You will build, install, breakdown and maintain equipment as needed.
  • You will report to the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • You will be a key member of the maintenance team that will contribute to the success of Dr. Oetker.
  • You will be part of the team that produces highest quality Dr. Oetker products. Food safety and security is of the utmost importance for Dr. Oetker and for you.
  • Consistently follow all Dr. Oetker Health & Safety and Food Safety & Security policies and procedures.
 
Your Qualifications:
  • You will be an interprovincial licensed Industrial Electrician (442A or 309D) or have obtained an electrical engineering degree.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in the capacity of a controls technician or equivalent preferably in the food or pharmaceutical industry.  
  • Knowledge of PLC programming changes and modifications using Siemens S7/S5 and TIA portal is required.
  • Working knowledge of panel installation, HVAC systems and industrial refrigeration systems would be an asset.
  • A TSSA B operator certification would be an asset.
  • TSSA B operator certification (training and education) would be supported financially for the right candidate.  (This additional certification also includes a $2/hour wage increase)
  • Physical essential abilities are handling heavy loads (up to 25 KG), manual dexterity, attention to detail, good hand-eye co-ordination, and bending, twisting, and lifting abilities.
  • You can stand for long periods of time and are able to work in extreme conditions with a combination of sitting, standing, walking, standing for extended periods, bending, crouching and kneeling.
  • You have your own transportation, as public transportation is not available.
  • You will not allowed to wear piercings, jewelry, nail polish, fake eyelashes, fake Fingernails etc. in production area.
  • Must be able to touch and work with pork, chicken, beef and dairy products. 
  • You are able to work rotating 8 hour shifts on two or four week cycles. You are able to work day and night shifts.
