Position Purpose:

Position Summary:  The Warehouse Manager contributes to the success of the Company by planning, implementing, and controlling the flow of goods and services and by ensuring the warehouse is organized and staffed with the necessary resources. This position is expected to utilize those resources in making sure the company's, cost, service, vendor relationships, people development, and food safety objectives are met.

A day in the life of the Warehouse Manager can look like:

  • Providing leadership in the movement, storage, and inventory management of all materials and supplies for the London, Ontario facility
  • Managing all inbound and outbound activities ensuring all processes and procedures are strictly adhered to and when issues arise initiate corrective actions keeping all support functions advised.
  • Working with the IT, Production, and Finance Teams in ensuring all material utilization processes and procedures are executed as defined
  • Coordinating with other key staff at the London Facility to ensure all Plant KPI's are consistently satisfied and implements corrective action as required
  • Coordinating with the production team in identifying and resolving raw material utilization opportunities
  • Optimizing warehouse performance, including continuous improvement, innovations, and reduction in costs
  • Implementing deliverables and activities consistent with established goals, objectives, and policies to ensure growth and profitability
  • Reviewing and revising warehousing policies and processes as needed
  • Developing and controlling operational budget
  • Developing quantifiable measures for tracking actual performance against financial targets
  • Developing and mentoring direct reports for professional development and succession
  • Developing SOPs for all warehouse related activities
  • Build and lead team by evaluating and utilizing team's skill sets to increase or achieve results through positive, open leadership.
  • Developing SOP's for all warehouse related activities.

What we need from you:

  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration or other Logistics or Transportation
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in Transportation/Distribution/Operations/Warehouse Management
  • Practical knowledge of supply chain and warehouse management 
  • Proven continuous improvement and change management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to use technology and/or systems for problem solving.
  • Ability to deal with complex problems and multiple levels of communication within the organization.
  • Excellent communication skills in a team environment both written and verbal.
  • Ideal candidate will have worked as a Warehouse Manager for a large food manufacturer specializing in shipping and receiving.
  • Knowledge of Asset, Transportation, Warehouse, and Information Management

*Lean, Six Sigma exposure

 Experience in working with ERP systems * (nice to have)
