Financial Analyst (Hybrid)

Yurek Specialties Limited is a state-of-the-art processing facility in London, ON, which features the latest equipment to support the processing, production, and delivery of medical supplies and infusion equipment, along with related supplies, to the Elgin, Norfolk, Oxford, London-Middlesex, Huron, Perth, Grey, Bruce and Grand River counties.

We are currently looking for a full-time Financial Analyst (Hybrid) to join our Yurek Specialties team in London, Ontario.

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Financial Analyst ensures the accuracy and integrity of the company’s financial operations. This includes managing general ledger entries, preparing financial statements, assisting with month-end and year-end activities, and supporting internal controls and compliance. Additionally, the Financial Analyst mentors’ administrative staff and collaborates with internal departments and external auditors to maintain robust financial reporting and accountability.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Completing general ledger journal entries, including Month-End and Year-End activities.
  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Reviewing coding on invoices and expense reports for accuracy.
  • Assisting with month-end close.
  • Assisting with general ledger accountability, overhead and recoveries monitoring, expense review and cost control, audit preparedness and account reconciliations.
  • Assisting with the development and implementation of internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Collaborating with internal departments and external auditors during audits and financial reviews.
  • Supporting and mentoring Administrators, providing guidance and support to ensure performance goals are met.
  • Assisting the Accounting Team with ad hoc requests.
  • Any other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education, Skills and Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance, or comparable education + working experience.
  • 3 - 5 years of progressive relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of ASPE and/or GAAP
  • Proficiency in financial software systems and advanced Excel skills. Experience with ACCPAC (Sage 300) and/or MS Navision would be considered an asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, driven to support other team members’ success.
  • Must be goal oriented, reliable and very organized.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong time management skills, with an ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work closely with senior management at all levels within the organization.
