Position Overview

Responsible for costing, fixed asset controls and inventory reporting. Controls general ledgers, financial reporting systems and internal accounting integrity of Vari-Form companies. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Complete journal entries and Blackline reconciliations for month end reporting
• Tracking and forecasting expenditures on all capital, tooling, and licensee spending, maintaining, and reconciling the CIP, Fixed Asset and Tooling asset sub-ledgers for all entities
• Calculating and maintaining the standard costs including overhead, direct labour, and inventory in MRP BPCS system including regular review of BOMs and input into MRP system
• Regularly reviewing and balancing inventory to the general ledger, support manufacturing personnel on costing and inventory, including year-end physical inventory count
• Prepares reporting packages (weekly, monthly, annual)
• Preparation of the manufacturing cost inputs to the annual budget and quarterly forecasts
• Prepares annual financial statements
• Contact for CRA
• Process the withholding taxes and indirect taxes, maintain government tax matters
• Support and backup the Finance Manager and other finance department personnel
• Submit HST returns monthly
• Assist with Canadian corporate tax return, tax planning / forecasting
• Comply with company policies and procedures supporting the quality management system, environmental management system, and health and safety

Educational Requirements and Skills

• Professional Accounting Designation
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management preferably in automotive
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Computer literacy, with strong proficiency in Excel
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
