Tax Specialist role in our Corporate Finance team.

 

This is an office-based role with the option of a hybrid work arrangement.

 

Must be available to come into the London, Ontario office 3 days per week.

You have the ability to manage requirements elicitation activities with a variety of stakeholders and manage a workload that involves tasks from concurrently running initiatives.

 

You have a university degree in Business Administration/Accounting or equivalent and you are a current Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or are working towards your designation. You have a minimum of 5 years of corporate tax experience with transfer pricing. You have working knowledge of OECD’s Transfer Pricing Guidelines, Canadian and USA Transfer pricing legislation as well as exposure to international tax. Pursuit of Indepth Transfer Pricing Course is also an asset.

 

Reporting to the Director, Taxation, you will maximize after tax profits for the global group of companies by delivering expert, timely, and compliant income tax compliance and transfer pricing analyses aligned with value creation.

 

Transfer Pricing

  • Prepare Country-by-Country transfer pricing documentation, Master and Local files in accordance with OECD Guidance and local regulations
  • Deliver transfer pricing benchmarking analyses by analyzing financial statements, segmented financials and transactional data
  • Prepare cross-border transactions analyses quarterly/annually, monitoring and recommending need for any transfer pricing adjustments by legislated deadlines and assist with setting new transfer prices as requested
  • Ensure that the transfer pricing policies are consistent with the arm’s length principle
  • Prepare the annual global intercompany management fee service fee calculation and all necessary transfer pricing documentation supporting the management service fees
  • Liaise with external advisors on local documentation matters
  • Collaboration with departmental and Operating Company staff on transfer pricing matters
  • Supporting transfer pricing audits by tax authorities

 

Tax Planning

  • Assist with planning opportunities as they relate to transfer pricing
  • Monitor up-to- date Global transfer pricing developments/changes and advise management/recommend actions as required
  • Determine and communicate impact of transfer pricing tax exposures/risks
  • Assist in development and advise on strategies and tactics to transfer pricing processes and structures
  • Assist with other corporate tax planning and special projects as requested
  • Respond to various ad hoc research requests

 

Corporate Tax Compliance

  • Assist departmental staff with corporate tax compliance including assisting with the preparation of returns, filings, reporting and tax balance calculations
  • Assist with corporate income and sales tax government audits minimizing audit adjustments
  • Interdepartmental collaboration to provide information and ensure corporate governance documentation updates are made in a timely manner
