The Opportunity:

Maple Leaf Foods is embarking on one of the most exciting journeys in its history through the build and startup of a world-class, leading edge manufacturing facility producing premium, value added fresh poultry products. The new 640,000 square foot facility will call London, ON home and will employ over 1,600 employees as we ramp up operations over the next few years.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:

As Human Resources Coordinator, you will:
  • Consistent with our leadership values, act as a champion for our culture by participating in the development and execution of a positive and productive environment focused on the needs of our people.
  • Coordinates and conducts all recruitment activities for hourly employees, including orientation
  • Prepares presentation and represents Company at external job fairs
  • Maintains reporting requirements for all hourly recruitment (KPIs)
  • Coordinates temporary help with Staffing Agencies to assist Managers/Supervisors with labour needs
  • Consistently strives for improvements to assist all levels to retain employees
  • Conduct hourly exit interview process and analysis
  • Ensure hourly transaction approval in SAP/MSS
  • Conduct research and generates reports as required
  • Provides back-up support for Payroll function
  • Responsible for tracking all benefit eligibility for hourly employees, including enrollment forms
  •    HR Customer Service support to all levels in business

What You’ll Bring:

  • Post-Secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources Management
  • Obtained or working towards CHRP designation with 2-3 years’ experience in a manufacturing, unionized environment
  • Decision making skills
  • Knowledge of current employment legislation including ESA, OHSA
  • Advanced computer skills – Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel,
  • Proven ability to communicate (verbal and written) effectively at all levels
  • Organizational skills and ability to multitask
