Dr. Oetker is a state-of-the-art Pizza Production Facility in London, Ontario. With our Head Quarters in Germany, and operations in over 40 countries around the world, we are an international company with deep family roots dating back to 1891. Our London facility which employees about 300 associates showcases modern, highly automated, high volume production lines where we produce Ristorante, Casa di Mama and Giuseppe pizzas under the Dr. Oetker label. Our facility is part of the International Pizza Production Unit (PPU) which, in part, identifies projects and efficiencies for execution at plant level.


In our facility, we start with raw materials such as flour and yeast to make a great pizza crust, topping with sauce and ingredients to make a fantastic, finished pizza and then freezing and packaging the pizzas for retail distribution.

The Nigh Shift Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for cleaning the food processing equipment and utensils, as well as the whole plant environment and will be responsible for developing and executing the sanitation program. Your goal is to continually improve sanitation performance by analyzing performance metrics, identifying the root causes of sanitation issues, and then implementing effective corrective measures to meet safety standards and product quality.


Key Accountabilities

  • Provide guidance, motivation and technical assistance to all sanitation staff to oversee cleaning and sanitizing of equipment, work surfaces, tools and plant environment to complete sanitation process efficiently and in a timely manner.
  • Managing day-to-day operations, scheduling with stakeholders, overseeing the sanitation department as a whole in compliance with all CFIA guidelines, HACCP protocols, GMP’s and SOP’s
  • Responsible for the Master Sanitation Schedule by scheduling and assigning work based on operational priorities.
  • Lead weekly cross functional Sanitation meeting with key stakeholders across the organization including Production and Quality Assurance to communicate sanitation performance metrics as well as review corrective action and drive continuous improvement.
  • Assist in the development and execution of training for employees to ensure employee compliance with all company and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain inventory control and storage of all sanitation related materials including chemicals, equipment, tools, and PPE. Solicit technical support from the sanitation chemical provider or corporate sanitation to optimize the cleaning chemistry and application methods.
  • Be involved with personnel decisions in conjunction with human resources related to hiring, performance and disciplinary actions for your direct reports.
  • Support and promote the company’s health and safety program and ensure continued compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and JHSC recommendations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


  • Post Secondary Education in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience; experience in a unionized and/or food manufacturing environment would be considered an asset.
  • Ability to work overnights.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to detect the presence of a sanitation issue
  • Experience working with SAP or similar systems.
  • Strong knowledge of KPI’s, Health & Safety, Food Safety & Quality.
  • Excellent leadership, change management, organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization and the leadership team.
  • Must have a valid passport with the ability to travel internationally as this role will require a 4-6 week in depth training experience in our Dr. Oetker European Facilities
