Job Description
Quality Assurance- HACCP Coordinator
Dr. Oetker is a state-of-the-art Pizza Production Facility in London, Ontario. With our Head Quarters in Germany, and operations in over 40 countries around the world, we are an international company with deep family roots dating back to 1891. Our London facility which employees about 300 associates was built in 2014 and showcases modern, highly automated, high volume production lines where we produce Ristorante, Casa di Mama and Giuseppe pizzas under the Dr. Oetker label.
In our facility, we start with raw materials such as flour and yeast to make a great pizza crust, topping with sauce and ingredients to make a fantastic, finished pizza and then freezing and packaging the pizzas for retail distribution.
Your Future:
· You will develop and maintain the Plant quality and food safety programs for Frozen products
· You will maintain procedures and protocols to ensure HACCP structure is in place
· You will manage the HACCP Reassessment and HACCP monitoring programs for SFCR, FSEP, FSMA, Corporate & ISO systems
· You will conduct HACCP on-sites and System Audits.
· You will complete and support validation studies for CCPs, OPRPs.
· You will provide, create, and implement employee training programs on HACCP/GMPs, Food Safety and Quality systems and effectively train employees
· Provide direct support and back up support to QA Technicians and other members for the QA team.
· Perform record reviews and verification activities
· You will ensure compliance with CFIA CVS and SIP programs and ensure all actions are completed.
· You will ensure that new policies, procedures and changes are implemented with appropriate documentation and training to ensure effectiveness.
· You will maintain an on-floor presence to ensure requirements are being met
· You will manage the micro environmental monitoring program
· You will conduct quality and food safety risk assessments incidents (root cause analysis, risk assessment, corrective action, preventative measures)
· You will work with multiple departments (sanitation, maintenance, production, etc) and provide direction to ensure compliance with CFIA, USDA, FDA and other country requirements
· You will support the process for food equipment approvals to ensure compliance to regulations
· You will support Quality Control line checks, internal audits (GMP, PP and HACCP) and external audits to ensure best quality practices are maintained within the operations
· You will provide line support on food safety and quality incidents
· You will support continuous improvement initiatives
· Other duties as assigned
Your Strengths:
· Ability to effectively communicate with plant employees and department supervisors or managers
· Excellent oral and written communication skills.
· Self driven and action oriented
· Experience in a food or other manufacturing plant.
· Position requires the ability to work shifts and to work overtime and weekends as needed.
· You must roll up your sleeves and have a hands on approach, boots on the floor mentality
· Must be flexible in hours of work to accommodate position responsibilities necessary over all production shifts
· Knowledge of hazard analysis and food safety risk assessment.
· Ability to quickly adapt to new circumstances and change
· Effective time management skills in order to meet strict deadlines
· Position requires the ability to support off shifts and to work overtime and weekends as needed.
· University degree in Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Science or a College Diploma within related field is required.
· Minimum 1-2 years working experience in HACCP, Food Safety, Quality
· Experience and knowledge of CFIA Safe Food For Canadians Regulations, FSEP (PP and HACCP system) program, FSMA preferred.
· Ability to conduct quality and food safety risk assessments.
· Computer skills required with some working experience in SAP or similar system preferred
· Knowledge of GFSI (FSSC 22000, ISO 9001:2015, BRC) preferred
· Ability to work independently, precisely and with initiative in a team environment.
· Takes initiative to identify and communicate improvements within our Quality and Food Safety Programs.
