Optical Lab Technician - Edging

We are looking for a passionate and motivated individual with high standards to join our dynamic team as an experienced Eyeglass Lab Technician in our Edging department. This is a full time position, offering 40 hours a week. Shamir offers a comprehensive benefits package, diverse work environment, and excellent career opportunities.

Job Summary:

The Lab Technician - Edging is responsible for following all processes and procedures within Edging department including operating equipment machines, maintaining quality of products and machine maintenance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform lens marking, verification, identify lens styles.
• Perform edging and mounting of lenses into frames.
• Perform special edging, drill mounting etc.
• Perform tinting of lenses.
• Operate optical equipment and machinery.
• Perform regular inspection of the machines and perform routine calibrations and maintenance procedures.
• Identify and select appropriate products for specific order and organize incoming jobs by priority.
• Reports defects/damages to the Supervisor.
• Clean equipment, machines and work spaces regularly.

Education:

• Completion of OSSD required.
• Optical experience is required.

Experience:

• Detail oriented and positive work ethic
• Familiarity with operating fine machinery
• Knowledge of optical theory and lens production is an asset
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work well under pressure
