We are seeking a General Manager for our Aggregate Division who is skilled in overseeing comprehensive operations, including production, sales, and logistics. Reporting to the Vice President of Materials Group the ideal candidate will excel in strategic planning and leadership, with a focus on driving operational efficiencies.

We are looking for someone who can manage the division’s performance, maintain high productivity levels, and meet or exceed client expectations. The successful candidate will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, as well as leading a team to achieve excellence in all operational aspects.

How you will make an IMPACT  

 

  • Direct the annual operations of aggregate production, including extraction, processing, quality control, and distribution. 
  • Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) relating to operational efficiencies in plant and mobile equipment, quality, safety and compliance.  
  • Develop, implement, and enforce operational policies and procedures.  
  • Build and maintain relationships with key clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction by addressing client inquiries and exceeding service expectations. 
  • Set long-term goals for the division, including resource allocation, budgeting, and growth strategies. 
  • Collaborate with executive management to define and drive the business strategy for the Aggregates Division. 
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market demands to guide decision-making. 
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team, providing coaching and professional development in a 1:1 environment 
  • Foster the J-AAR culture and values. 
  • Oversee workforce planning, including recruitment, training, and performance management. 
  • Monitor financial performance and profitability, providing reports and insights to executive leadership on a quarterly basis. 
  • Ensure that all operations are conducted in compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental regulations. 

 

How you WOW us 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, mining, or related field  
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in aggregates, mining, or construction materials procurement, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. 
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale operations and teams. 
  • Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations. 
  • Proficiency in cost control. 
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams. 
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions. 
  • Ability to develop and execute strategic plans. 
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of budget management, financial analysis, and P&L responsibility. 
  • Familiarity with aggregate production processes and equipment.
